On the 26th of April we had our last opening session and information event in the Loop head, Co Clare.
Very good turn out with more than 50 attendants, mostly local farmers as well as agricultural advisors, companies, local citizens, members of other farmers organisations and support groups.
Thank you very much Loop head Together and Wild Atlantic Hemp for organising of such an amazing event.
Dr Lena Madden from TUS, a manager and coordinator of the living lab SOILCRATES-Ireland have presented the project SOILCRATES and the Irish Living lab to the local community with a support from the chair of Loop head Together Margaret Cotter and secretary and board member of the Loop head Together Liz Greaney
Damian Coyne, a local agricultural advisor talked about the importance of soil health for farming income and Jim O’Donnell, a diary farmer and a member of Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association talked about his experience in soil health improvement and amazing results you can get when the soil is looked after.
The next step will be to bring those farmers interested in actively participating in the living lab together for co-creation sessions to discuss what each farmer feels their soil challenges are, and to explore what projects and trials would be suitable to address these challenges.
